Potsdam Main Station, located on the Berlin-Magdeburg railway line, is the most important railway station in the capital of Brandenburg. It was opened in 1838 with a train connection to Berlin. At that time it was the first railway connection in Prussia. Today, several regional trains and city trains run hourly from Potsdam Main Station to Berlin and back. With the neighbouring bus and tram station, the Main Station also serves as a central interchange station in Potsdam.
