Potsdam City Tour - Stop 10 Dragon House
Start or interrupt your Best of Potsdam Tour by City Circle at Stop Dragon House.
Following the Chinese fashion, Frederick the Great had the pagoda-like building erected in Sanssouci Park between 1770 and 1772. The Dragon House received its name from the sixteen artistically designed dragon figures that were attached to the corners of the roofs.
The house was given to the winegrower of the nearby royal vineyard as a residence. However, he never moved into it.
Today the Dragon House is a popular restaurant that awaits its guests in two historic indoor rooms and on three sun terraces. Enjoy fine German cuisine, homemade cakes and dinner menus in a unique atmosphere.
