Potsdam City Tour - Stop 5 Cecilienhof Palace
Start or interrupt your Best of Potsdam Tour by City Circle at Stop Cecilienhof Palace.
The palace with its richly structured half-timbered façade in the style of an English country house is located at the northern end of the idyllic park Neuer Garten. The palace was built during the First World War. Cecilienhof became famous during the Potsdam Conference in August 1945 when Truman, Stalin and Churchill sealed the fate of Germany after the end of the Second World War.
The red Soviet star, planted with flowers in the entrance courtyard at the time, still welcomes visitors. You may visit Cecilienhof in its full splendour again after extensive renovation. Today it belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage and houses the permanent exhibition on the Potsdam Agreement. A partial use as a hotel is planned for the future.
